Format Magazine Vane Interview
Check out Format Magazine for an exclusive interview with the Vane crew. “after fabrics are sourced, we cut and sew everything in New York’s historic Garment District, and during the process we can adjust things like yoke shape, stitch style, and fit literally on the spot” (READ MORE) Big ups to Daniel and the Format family! Ride that river.
A major landmark in Minneapolis is a giant cherry poised at the tip of a more giant spoon. It spans a small pond, and is loved by geese and pedestrians alike. Minneapolis is not overtly style-conscious. It has its fair share of hipsters, scenesters and hangers-on, but that isn't where style lives either. Something in the spirit of constructing a monolithic spoon-on-cherry as part of your identity gives a hint what this place is about. There is style here, and a lot of receptivity for new style. When I walk around in Vane gear, people ask, eyebrows raise, and the online catalog gets some Minnesota love. But I still love the hell of out Brooklyn.
BEASTIN!
Today we got some big ups from the online blog Hypebeast. For those of you who know, Hypebeast is like the bible for street fashion, so it's an honor to be a part of their publication. We major! Haaaa. Much love to Eugene and all the Hypebeast crew for all their help and hard work! Labels: Press
Pre-Spring Collection Available: COP THAT SHIT!
The Vane Online Shop is now up and running! Get all the dope Vane hoodies and sweaters while quantities last! I don't say it in a "limited-edition" type of nonsense, we were literally limited to the amount of items we could produce by the availability of fabrics, not artificial manipulation of supply. So, I say in all honesty, if you would like a piece of our collection, I highly recommend you cop something while you can. We have been straight grinding the last year to make this collection happen, and it wouldn't have been possible without all the love and support of our friends and family, so much love to everyone rocking Vane. And if you're in New York, make sure you swing by all our retail partners, Union, Reed Space, Caravan, and Brooklyn Circus, there's some dope shit sitting there, promise!

The Rock Boy Celebrates on Letterman
Diamond Matters
I didn't get a chance to post the opening of this exhibition but right now Kadir van Lohuizen has a show up in Dumbo called Diamond Matters. It has to be the best exhibition I have seen since Salgado at ICP. The images were incredible at telling the story and he did a great job following the entire process. It felt like I was looking at the lifespan of a diamond that had been found and is now in someones earrings. The following are details Umbrage Gallery 81 Front Street Brooklyn Oct 30th to Dec 4th. Its up for a while and I urge you to check it out. Umbrage did a great job publishing Kadirs Book. It's elegantly printed in tritone on 3 different papers, from rough to glossy, mirroring the evolution of the raw diamond to their apogee as Bond Street tiaras. The packaging is on point, hardbound with a suede spine and small diamond on the cover. Labels: Events, Photography
Vane the Token Foreign Kid.
Vane is a cultured and diverse company, I mean, look at the partners. We got the Chinese graphic designer, the Paki web designer/photographer, and the Indian finance guy. In some respects, we are the token foreign kid. Maybe Vane is the token foreign kid of the NYC fashion scene. But we got something most of other brands don’t – the MADE IN THE USA label and the icing is our shit is actually made in fucking Manhattan. So shit, Vane is actually a New York brand that something like New York.
